Dubai Electrical energy and Water Authority (DEWA) has invited worldwide builders to submit expressions of curiosity for a young to develop the 1,600-megawatt (MW) seventh part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Photo voltaic Park.
This part, which is expandable to 2,000MW, will use photovoltaic photo voltaic panels and a battery power storage system with a capability of 1,000MW for six hours, offering a complete storage capability of 6,000 megawatt-hours (MWh).
This can make it one of many world’s largest solar-plus-storage tasks. The part shall be carried out below the unbiased energy producer (IPP) mannequin. DEWA has invited worldwide builders or consortia to submit their expressions of curiosity by twenty first March 2025.
The seventh part is predicted to provide 4.5 terawatt-hours of electrical energy yearly, avoiding the burning of greater than 36 billion cubic toes of pure gasoline. It’s going to enhance the photo voltaic park’s deliberate manufacturing capability from 5,000MW to 7,260MW, elevating the share of unpolluted power in Dubai’s power combine from 27% to 34% by 2030.
Because of this, the full discount in carbon dioxide emissions will rise from 6.5 million tonnes to roughly 8 million tonnes yearly, reinforcing Dubai’s place as a worldwide hub for sustainability and innovation in renewable power.
The seventh part is scheduled to turn into operational in phases between 2027 and 2029.
The photo voltaic park’s present manufacturing capability stands at 3,460MW, with an extra 1,200MW below building.
