A passenger airplane pilot died after collapsing mid-flight, forcing the Turkish Airways jet to make an emergency touchdown in New York, the airline stated on Wednesday.
The Airbus 350 had taken off from the western US coastal metropolis of Seattle certain for Istanbul on Tuesday night, airline spokesman Yahya Ustun wrote on X.
He stated the pilot of flight TK204, who he named as Ilcehin Pehlivan, collapsed through the flight.
‘After an unsuccessful try to present first support, the flight crew of one other pilot and a co-pilot determined to make an emergency touchdown, however he died earlier than touchdown,’ Ustun stated.
