Propositon 33 would let cities and counties enact hire management by repealing the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act. Related statewide hire management initiatives failed in 2020 and 2018.
Supporters say repealing the ban on localities capping hire on vacant items, single-family houses and residences constructed extra not too long ago will give native governments instruments to ease the affordability disaster for his or her residents.
Opponents counter it’ll trigger builders to construct much less, thus worsening California’s housing affordability.
