Rue Américaine 95
What’s good? The meals is scrumptious, the number of cocktails is huge, the vibe is enjoyable and convivial. Gigi Amor is the proper place for a chatty night time out with pals or a romantic date.
We indulged in plates of pasta and pizza. The normal Rigatoni all’amatriciana — with spicy tomato sauce, guanciale and Pecorino cheese — was extremely tasty, whereas the Gigi Amor pizza — with beetroot cream, mozzarella, spicy salami and roasted candy potatoes — was completely unforgettable. The selection of the desserts is unique, and their presentation may be very nicely curated. We couldn’t choose one so we tried three — Matchamisu, brioche siciliane and strawberry pavlova — and they didn’t disappoint.
What’s not? The service was sluggish and inattentive. We needed to remind the servers about our order and didn’t obtain all of the drinks we had requested for.
Vibe: From the ceilings to the ground, each element counts at Gigi Amor. The nostalgic Italian music within the background will remind you of summer season evenings within the streets of Rome, whereas the pink partitions and comfortable velvet cubicles will encourage your romantic facet.
Who’s selecting up the verify? The antipasti are between €12 and €17, the pizzas vary from €11 to €20, whereas the pasta dishes are a bit dearer, between €19 and €24. Cocktails price from €11.
Insider tip: Don’t miss out on the cocktails and the not-so-Italian Matchamisu, a reimagined tiramisu with the flavour of Japanese matcha tea as an alternative of espresso.
Enjoyable reality: The slogan of the restaurant is “Mangia bene, ridi spesso, ama molto!” which implies “Eat nicely, giggle typically, love lots!”
How you can get there: Positioned within the elegant Châtelain district, the restaurant is just a few minutes away from the Washington bus station and the Janson tram station.
